Does Alabama require an annual report for LLCs?

No standard annual report is filed with the Alabama Secretary of State, Business Entities Division for LLCs. LLCs still file the Business Privilege Tax return (Form PPT) with the AL Dept of Revenue, due with the federal return; for tax years after 12/31/2023, entities whose BPT is $100 or less are fully exempt and need not file. BPT is a tax, not a report fee.

Alabama corporations are different

Corporations in Alabama file the Annual Report (Annual, $10.00), due january 1 - March 15 each year. Since 2024 filed directly with the Secretary of State (no longer with the BPT return). Corporation also files BPT return (Form CPT) with Dept of Revenue; exempt if BPT is $100 or less. Card payments may add a convenience fee.

Other ongoing requirements for a Alabama LLC
