Our $750 fee covers the search, class advice, preparing and filing your application, and monitoring it through to a decision. The USPTO charges its own government fee on top: currently $350 per class of goods or services. Most small businesses file in one class, so the total is usually $1,100.

The USPTO usually takes several months to examine an application, and the whole process to registration commonly takes around a year, longer if the examiner raises questions. You receive a serial number as soon as we file, and you can use the ™ symbol straight away.

No. You can file on an "intent to use" basis if you plan to use the mark soon. You will need to prove use later, which involves an additional USPTO filing and fee.

The USPTO groups goods and services into 45 classes — for example clothing is class 25 and online retail is class 35. You pay the USPTO fee for each class you want protection in.

Yes. Owners based outside the United States must be represented by a US-licensed attorney when filing with the USPTO; tell us where you are based and we will explain what applies to you before you pay.

No. We are a document preparation service: we prepare your application from the information you give us and file it on your instructions, and you sign it as the owner. We do not give legal opinions on whether your mark will be approved. For contested or complex marks, speak to a trademark attorney.

No. Forming an LLC only stops another company using the same name in your state's business register. A federal trademark protects your brand across the whole country and in the marketplace.
